Hi everyone out there in Trail, hows it going? Me and husband are thinking packing it up and coming out that way. Never been to a small town but would like to move out there. I have seen pictures of Trail and it is so nice and cute, just hate living out here, just getting sick of the whole place...we are thinking about coming out there next year sometime, so I hope too see the place soon. It is time for a change and I love seeing the river and the lights, must be good fishing out there hey? My husband loves fishing. Thanks. I was born and raised in Trail...attended school there had wonderful friends and have never forgotten my happy years there! My Dad worked 'up the hill' for many years (Andrew) and our home in East Trail was a place where friends gathered. Since leaving, I travelled, became a published poet and most recently won a senior singing award. If anyone remembers me....I'd love to hear from you...g.zal5@netscape.ca My Mom is still alive and living in Kelowna (Josie) and she is 93 years old. Thanks for the memories! The Welcome Inn was located in what I believe is now called Victoria's Shoe Repair across from Safeway. As a youngster in the 50's I often frequented the store/cafe when it was owned and operated by the late Lou Demore and his wife. I fondly remember sitting there one day, chatting with a fellow on the next stool who Lou later introduced to me as hockey great Max Bentley.| Paul D'Arcangelo | | Tuesday, August 28th, 2007, 8:37 pm | Courtenay |

It seems to me that there was a Welcome Inn on either Bay Ave, or Cedar Ave, between Eldorado and Farwell. It was quite small and served mainly hamburgers etc. This would be in the late 1940s.| Derek Lowder | | Saturday, August 25th, 2007, 1:34 pm | High River, AB |
Re Welcome Inn
I remember a Welcome Inn in the 14 hundred block of Second Ave East Trail. I believe it was active as early as 1940. It was just across the corner from the Reo theater (later became United Dairies).| Don | | Friday, August 24th, 2007, 3:01 pm | Victoria |

My husband and I are the new owners of the Arlington Hotel in Trail. We absolutely love the area and people of Trail. I am hoping to get some history of owners and workers and just general memories of your experience at the Arlington Hotel in years gone bye. Love to hear from you.

Great website! Really helps to get to know your pretty town!
My dad was born in Trail, and we have lots of family in and around Nelson and Cranbrook. We're thinking of relocating there in the spring. Has the ski resort in Rossland affected the price of homes in Trail at all? Could one live in Trail and operate a small gift shop in Rossland?| Stephanie | | Tuesday, July 24th, 2007, 7:25 pm | Edmonton |
Would like to contact my old friend Randy Pez. Any information or email address would be greatly appreciated.
